My name is Mike Whitty, and I'd like to welcome you to Mobile Home Resident, a website that provides many of the answers you may ask yourself as a current or future mobile home resident.  As a 15 year resident of Lafayette Place Mobile Home Park (a Sun Communities Property) in Warren, Michigan, and the Director of Mr. Mike's Neighborhood, I've experienced the mobile home industry more than most, and have provided a plethora of articles for you to enjoy reading or listening to.  Visit the website often since I'm always adding more content.

After living here for over 15 years dealing with Sun Communities and our Park Management, along with a vast amount of research, I've come to realize that there are many things residents need to know, and just as many things mobile home park owners and managers don't want you to know that this website can answer for you.

Residents of Michigan Mobile Home Parks Struggle to Access Safe Drinking Water

In the wake of the Flint water crisis, Michigan has become a leader in safe water, working to remove lead pipes and harmful chemicals. However, mobile homes across the state still struggle to receive safe, clean water.  That's similar to many mobile home residents across the country. The Associated Press has found that in the past five years, more than half of mobile home parks in the U.S. broke federal drinking water rules and did not submit required tests, with 41% doing so repeatedly.
